Raj annonce à ses amis qu'il va être renvoyé chez lui, en Inde. Ses recherches n'ayant donné aucun résultat satisfaisant, l'université ne veut plus le financer. Howard veut que son ami reste aux Etats-Unis et lui trouve un emploi. Raj doit passer un entretien qui se passe bien jusqu'à l'arrivée d'une magnifique jeune femme. Raj, incapable de parler en présence de femmes, commence à boire pour surmonter sa timidité. Cependant, il boit trop et perd ses chances pour le poste. Sheldon propose par conséquent à Raj de travailler pour lui...
