À Los Angeles, Haskell tue Phil Baker, le mari de Gloria, qui n'est autre que l'ex-femme de Ray, et enlève son épouse. Il laisse dans leur appartement plusieurs indices à l'attention de Ray qui se met en tête de retrouver sa piste tout seul. Catherine fait venir sur place Sara et Nick pour l'aider. Tina Vincent est bientôt retrouvée morte dans une chambre d'hôtel où Ray est venu l'interroger. Des soupçons de meurtre pèsent sur lui. Nick retrouve Ray et ils se lancent à la poursuite d'Haskell qui leur échappe. Ray doit retourner à Las Vegas, mais il continue l'enquête
