Alors que sa carrière est en jeu, Kat dispose d'une dernière opportunité de prouver la culpabilité de Sir Douglas. Calum disparaît, poussant son frère et ses soeurs à demander l'aide de Kat. Le voile se lève sur les nombreuses trahisons de Sir Douglas, et son rôle dans leur vie. Seule Eilidh, sa fille la plus proche, refuse d'entendre la moindre critique à son sujet. Kat devra la convaincre de coopérer.
