À l'approche des fêtes, Maddy se rend avec son fils, Wesley, chez ses parents, qui possèdent un hôtel de luxe dans une station de ski. Sur place, elle fait la rencontre de Paul, un jeune veuf qui élève seul son fils, Cody. Les deux garçons deviennent rapidement amis, tandis que Paul et Maddy se rapprochent.
