L'équipe du SG-1 est attaquée par une armée de Jaffas sur la planète P7S 441. Le colonel Jack O'Neil refuse de quitter les lieux et ordonne au major Samantha Carter d'aller chercher du renfort. De retour au SG-C, Carter demande l'aide du général Hammond. Dans son rapport, elle mentionne à plusieurs reprises le nom d'un certain lieutenant Tyler, que le colonel O'Neill tenterait de sauver. Hammond ne connaît pas ce lieutenant. Il est de plus en plus persuadé que son équipe est tombée sous l'emprise des Jaffas. Teal'c, Jackson et le major Carter sont placés en quarantaine
