Parallèlement, Lindsay, Stella et Flack enquêtent sur le décès d'un homme, tué en allumant un cigare bourré d'explosifs. Les seuls indices qu'ils possèdent les mènent à s'intéresser au propriétaire d'une boutique spécialisée en farces et attrapes et à une autre tragédie similaire, survenue quelques années auparavant
