Mac est en train de prendre son petit déjeuner dans son snack habituel, lorsqu'un homme armé fait irruption et tire plusieurs coups de feu sur l'assistance. Le criminel blesse notamment un homme et une femme. Celle-ci, gravement touchée, doit recevoir des soins immédiats. Mac hésite alors entre poursuivre le meurtrier et venir en aide aux victimes. Le temps presse, Mac doit choisir rapidement. Un peu plus tard, Mac reçoit une invitation inattendue
