Fact-based drama about actor and army officer ME Clifton-James, whose remarkable resemblance to General Montgomery saw him selected for a special assignment during the Second World War. He was trained to imitate the general perfectly, and sent on a tour of North Africa to keep the real Montgomery's whereabouts unknown to the enemy. Clifton-James stars as both himself and Monty, alongside John Mills and Cecil Parker.
