Sonya Barak, une terroriste, doit être jugée pour complicité d'enlèvement. Mais elle obtient un sursis jusqu'à son procès. À la sortie de la première audience, son avocat est assassiné par l'un de ses anciens complices. Horatio et son équipe découvrent que le tireur visait en fait Sonya pour l'empêcher de parler. Apeurée, Sonya prend la fuite et disparaît. Horatio craint désormais que les anciens complices de Sonya ne la retrouve avant eux
