Une jeune femme est retrouvée morte après avoir été «vendue aux enchères» au cours d'une étrange soirée de charité. Les sommes récoltées devaient être reversées à une des oeuvres caritatives de Peter Kinkella, mais la famille de ce dernier a mystérieusement disparu. L'équipe découvre que la victime était en réalité venue enquêter sur l'organisateur de la soirée. Parallèlement, Horatio parvient à éviter de justesse un attentat visant la centrale nucléaire de Miami
