Très vite, le commissaire Magellan et le lieutenant Selma Berrayah acquièrent la certitude que le meurtrier ou la meurtrière se trouve parmi les proches de la victime. Entre les luttes de pouvoir, les conflits d'intérêts, et les petits secrets bien gardés de chacun, les enquêteurs vont plonger dans le monde de l'art et les rêves de chacun pour y briller
